June 12, 2012 Independence Day Flag Raising Ceremony

Rachel Pointon (8th from right, wearing purple jacket) represented KASAGIP Charitable Trust and more than 100 members of the Filipino community joined Ambassador Virginia H. Benavidez and the Embassy officers and staff at a Flag Hoisting Ceremony on 12 June 2012 at the “Ang Bahay” (Embassy Residence) in Wellington.

They braved the cold wintry weather and icy winds to proudly raise the Philippine flag, sing from their hearts the Philippine National Anthem and recite their oath of allegiance to the country.
